Introducing InterActive Exercise

New online-based fitness program offers complete approach to losing weight and keeping it off

Physician-supervised weight loss company now offers an unrivaled fitness component with launch of InterActive Exercise by Medi-Weightloss Clinics®

Medical experts agree there are five components to wellness: medicine, nutrition, motivation, education, and physical activity. While physician-supervised weight loss programs remain the gold standard in helping many lose weight and keep it off, these programs traditionally lack physical activity assistance for patients. With the launch of InterActive Exercise, Medi-Weightloss Clinics® is the first physician-supervised weight loss company to provide a fully comprehensive approach to wellness.

Exercise is a critical component of a long-term weight loss and wellness program. One of the largest research studies on the role exercise plays in weight loss and weight maintenance is the National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) . Participants in the registry reported having lost an average of 72.6 pounds and have maintained the minimum weight loss (30 pounds) for more than five years; 13% have maintained this weight loss for over 10 years. Eighty-nine percent reported using both diet and physical activity for weight loss; only 10% reported using diet only, and 1% reported using exercise only for weight loss.

InterActive Exercise was developed as a method to educate Medi-Weightloss Clinics® patients on the importance of exercise and to provide them the tools they need to implement a workout into their daily lives. InterActive Exercise’s portable equipment allows users to exercise anytime and anywhere. The program includes access to a cutting-edge website; the website is linked to the patient’s medical and weight history. The members-only website features a workout library, videos, fitness tracker, and numerous educational resources. Members can develop individualized workout routines to meet their specific need, select plans developed by Fitness Experts, and track progress, including caloric expenditure.

April Plank , Vice President of Marketing and certified fitness expert, developed the fitness program. “Physical Activity is an essential component for long-term weight maintenance. Our patients who exercise are more likely to keep their weight off, achieve a toned appearance, and experience benefits including improved mood, reduced stress, and enhanced cardiovascular health”, said Plank, who holds a masters in Exercise Science and Health Enhancement. Plank is excited to provide a compressive approach to Wellness, including an advanced fitness system to Medi-Weightloss Clinics® patients.
