Our Patients Have Lost Over One Million Pounds
Physician-supervised weight loss program helps patients lose one million pounds
While obesity rates reach historically high levels in the United States, Medi-Weightloss Clinics® helps patients lose weight and become healthy.
TAMPA, Fla. – Every company sets out to reach milestones. For McDonald’s, it was reaching the goal of serving one-million customers daily. But for Medi-Weightloss Clinics®, a physician-supervised weight loss company, the milestone is to help patients collectively lose more than one-million pounds. Medi-Weightloss Clinics® has now reached that milestone and continues to work with patients across the country every day to help people reach their own goals.
Obesity rates increased in 28 states last year and more than two-thirds have adult obesity rates of 25 percent or more, according to Trust for America’s Health, which recently published its annual report on the obesity epidemic in the United States. However, Medi-Weightloss Clinics® is working to reduce the rate of obese Americans by helping its patients lose weight and become healthier.
Since May 2007, Medi-Weightloss Clinics® began tracking patient progress – pound for pound – through its custom Electronic Medical Records system. Medi-Weightloss Clinics® is proud to have helped its patients lose over one-million pounds. In addition to losing weight, many patients now experience a reduced risk for obesity-related illnesses and diseases, such as hypertension and diabetes.
According to The Centers for Disease Control, more than 30 percent of adults in the United States are hypertensive. Approximately 7 percent of Medi-Weightloss Clinics® patients were classified as hypertensive before starting the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program. After its patients participate in the program and reach their goal weight, less than 1 percent of its patients were classified as hypertensive.
“Obesity has become a public health problem of unprecedented proportions in this country,” says Macklin E. Guzman, MPH, director of research & development at Medi-Weightloss Clinics®. “We are proud to provide a quality weight loss and wellness program to our patients and help make an impact on the obesity crisis in America.”
