- Do I have to be overweight to participate? What if I only need to lose 10-15 pounds?
- Whether you need to lose 10 or 110 pounds, Medi-Weightloss Clinics® can help you reach your weight loss goals. Our medical team will develop a customized program that will help you lose weight and transition into a healthier lifestyle.
- Will I be hungry on this program?
- No, not at all. Many patients actually report reduced hunger and increased energy.
- I am on a variety of medications; can I still participate in the program?
- We have found that very few medications negatively interact with the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program. When you come in for your consultation, the practitioner will thoroughly review your medical history and discuss it with you.
- I have diabetes; can I be on the program?
- Yes. Our Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program is physician supervised. Patients suffering from medical conditions, including diabetes, can be treated with your doctor's permission. Our program can help you control your medical condition so that you can lead a healthier life.
- How often do I have to visit the clinic?
- It differs depending on your current phase. The Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program is divided into three phases. During the Acute and Short-Term Maintenance Phases, you will visit your clinic on a weekly basis. Once you have reached your weight loss goal and transitioned into our Wellness Phase, you will visit the clinic on a monthly basis.
- What is obesity?

- What kind of doctors work in the clinics?
- Our physicians are trained in Bariatric Medicine, General Medicine, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, General Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. All of our physicians are members of the American Board of Bariatric Physicians.
- Can I participate in this program without the guidance of a Medi-Weightloss Clinics® medical professional?
- Trying to lose weight on your own can be challenging. Many individuals find they need guidance and direction on their weight loss journey. Research has demonstrated that personal counseling can help people lose weight and keep it off †. Patients are successful on the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program because every patient is treated, motivated, and supported by our trained medical professionals.
- Can I do this program with my Primary Care Physician?
- Although your Primary Care Physician may be able to prescribe medication to help you lose weight, prescription medication is only one element of a successful weight loss program; and may not be for everyone. The Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program includes individual counseling, educational tools and techniques, and the medical expertise needed to help you reach your weight loss and wellness goals for a lifetime.
- I recently had my physical, EKG, and blood work done. Do I need to repeat the exams at the Initial Consultation?
- Recent physicals or tests conducted by your Primary Care Physician are acceptable. For us to retrieve this information, you will be required to sign a release form during your Initial Consultation.
- Do I have to sign a contract or pay in advance?
- No. Patients of Medi-Weightloss Clinics® never have to sign a contract or pay in advance.
- What type of food do I eat while on the program?
- Our program is not based on prepackaged foods. Our diet consists of real food that you can purchase at your grocery store. We educate you on appropriate food choices and portion sizes because this is not a quick fix. This is a lifestyle change.
- Is the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® Program tax deductible?
- We recommend you speak with your tax accountant to determine whether our program can be deducted from your taxes.
