Dave's Weight Loss Story

It had gotten to a point where I found it difficult to do simple everyday tasks like tying my shoes. I was snoring so loudly, my wife asked me to sleep in the spare bedroom. An extra 5 pounds became 10; 10 became 20; and I kept going until I had gained 40 pounds in two years. I was in the worst shape of my life.

I had a one-year-old son and another son due in six months. I knew if I was going to be active in their lives and live long enough to enjoy them and see them grow up, it was time to do something.

I had tried other diets along the way. I achieved limited success with some, none with others. I knew two people who had gone to Medi-Weightloss Clinics® and I was amazed at the success they had in such a relatively short period of time. I knew that if I was going to lose the 60 pounds, I was going to need to see not only immediate results, but consistent, long-term results. I decided to give Medi-Weightloss Clinics® a call.

The start of my new life

When I went in for my Initial Consultation and completed the questionnaire, I realized just how bad things had gotten. One of the questions asked was what I thought I've done wrong in my daily diet. By the time I was done answering the question, I had listed 15 things that were the basis of my problems. I was doing everything wrong! That day was the start of my new life.

My wife went with me to meet the physician. For her to be as supportive as I needed her to be, we thought it would be good for her to hear what he had to say, be able to ask her own questions, and find out what types of foods I would be able to eat. The consultation went great and I started the program a couple of days later on August 1. The first week I lost 12 pounds! By the end of the fourth week, I had lost 32 pounds. In 12 weeks, I lost 57 pounds, and I felt awesome!

It was easier than I thought it would be. The first week was incredibly tough because of lots of cravings for all the foods I would typically be eating. I got through it and each week became easier. I started to develop good habits, like eating smaller quantities of healthier foods, and drinking plenty of water. I found some foods in the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® recipes that I really liked and have incorporated them into my lifestyle.

I've had a few people ask me how I did so well in such a short period of time. I tell them I did everything that my Medi-Weightloss Clinics® physician told me to do to be successful. I kept a daily log of everything I ate or drank. It took time, but I knew exactly where I was every day. I drank plenty of water and fluids, and I joined a gym.

Enjoying a healthier lifestyle

Today, four months after I reached my goal weight, I am enjoying a healthier lifestyle. I am in the best shape I've been in almost 12 years. I'm still going to the gym, and I am more active than I've been in years. My snoring is almost nonexistent. My wife has allowed me to move back into our bedroom. I'm even able to more easily tie my shoes!

Best of all, we're only days away from the birth of our second son; our 18-month-old is very active, and I'm able to do things with our family that I wasn't able to do only six months ago.
